Isabel: The Portals of Hellion is a novel where I attempt to resurrect the old pulp-novel concept. Yes, I was heavily influenced by Robert E. Howard’s Conan stories, and also, I was heavily influenced (like so many others) by the tales of H.P. Lovecraft. [My book is free at https://shorturl.at/O7VNC].

I have attempted to create a world that resembles the worlds created by the two authors above out of a sense of respect, dire need, and love. Is it perfect? Helllllllll no, but writing this novel taught me so much about the process. The sequel, yet unnamed, is coming along just fine by the way.
Here is a comment from a reviewer I pulled off my Amazon account. I am overwhelmed naturally by the kindness: “The narrative is well-crafted, with a pace and style that captivate your attention from the very first page. The language is succinct, direct, and unflinching, pulling you deeper into a world that is raw and unapologetic.”
The first image above is our dear Isabel. She begins as a waif who unfortunately finds herself sold into slavery to an ill-willed priestess of the Temple of Sha’thoth in the deserts of Ravoria (Isabel’s dimension–similar to Earth). She is sold along with her sister. There, she grows into a warrior of Sha’thoth, and is inducted by that goddess to be the sole surviving vampire-follower of the temple. I waste no efforts in being bloody regarding vampirism. Better blame Hammer movies. Those blokes knew how to make a good vampire movie. And, I waste no time in describing Isabel as a type of sexual being. She uses sex the way a hammer orchid uses pheromones to attract a male wasp for the pollen on its appendages. She’s definitely a Darwinian if you get my meaning.

Co-starring is the devil known as Damiana. Dami’s origin story is common enough. She was married to a drug-dealer who promised her the moon, until unfortunately, the druggie kills her while high on his own product. While he merely goes to a prison on Earth, Dami is sent directly to Hellion as another deceased “fallen” who had no real moral purpose in life. There, Dami (like all “fallen”) is required to do battle in the Ordeal. The rule of Ordeal is simple: Be strong enough to survive wave after wave of hungry undead, and you too can win freedom to live in Hellion as you please. Let’s not talk of losing today. Losers have it rough. While Isabel can be classified as neutral-evil cleric, Dami is definitely a lawful evil devil/assassin.
That is probably enough for an informed ad–I guess. Never sold my own book before, so you gotta start somewheres. Am I right, or am I right, or am I right?
Below is a rendered picture that I think catches the darker side of Hellion. Yeah, that dimension can be beautiful as well. I recommend the mountains and the beaches (just don’t go in the water.) Blahahahah!

Lovecraft tentacles anyone????????
